Freelancing, the world of working at your own pace, the freedom of being your boss. That’s a convenience that everyone who calls themselves freelancers loves to enjoy.

But like all things, freelancing also has its “not so good” side and that’s where most freelancers fall for today. But don’t worry, I’m here to guide you to that “Freelancer’s Paradise” you so desire.

Almost anyone can freelance, but only a number of people can do it well. And if done right, it can be the source of a substantial amount of income for you. The most important aspect of freelancing is getting selected for jobs and I’ll tell you how to get the jobs you want.

How to be selected for jobs

one. Be unique– Millions of freelancers may be offering the services you provide, but you must have something that sets you apart. It could be attention to detail, a particular skill set that not everyone possesses, etc. Always try to let your clients know this when they make an offer or apply for a job.

2. don’t look cheap: Many freelancers do this and eventually accumulate so many cheap jobs that sometimes they can’t complete. This may result in some of them getting negative reviews due to customer dissatisfaction and delayed project delivery time. It’s better to do a $300 job very well than to take 10 gigs worth $30 each and not deliver.

3. Set realistic deadlines: Some freelancers agree to almost any set of terms just to get the job, including an unrealistic time frame that causes client dissatisfaction later on. As a freelancer, clients should be able to demand your word and if the timing of a project doesn’t suit you. Then it is better to notify the client of a more suitable moment or not to start the project. Your reputation is at stake. A bad review can do a lot of damage to your profile.

Four. Under promise and over deliver: The point here is that you should only promise what you can deliver. Don’t over-exaggerate your skills to a client. It always backfires in the long run.

5. Upload samples of your work to your profile. And if you’re new to freelancing, make your profile look as professional as possible.

6. Always try to improve your skills. And show a desire to produce quality work.

7. Understand your client’s wishes and then advise based on how your skills can help them achieve their goals. Clients feel good when the freelancer genuinely cares about the success of the end product of their business relationship and not just how much they will be paid after the work is complete.

There are thousands of freelancers earning regular and stable income online. I think if you follow the above rule set, you might exceed your own expectations.
