The main point of discussion in this vehicle as seen in the Fiesta ST concept is the 1.6-liter turbocharged Eco boost engine. With these, the vehicle is capable of producing a staggering 178 HP and 177 LB / FT of torque. This power is transmitted through the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. With this, the vehicle is touted to do 0-60 MPH in less than seven seconds with a top speed of 136 mph. With the high torque produced, this is tamed by the vehicle’s three-mode stability system that allows you to better control the vehicle, depending on driving areas. On the outside, the Fiesta ST comes with a new body and kit, with a newly designed grille and roof spoiler. In addition, there are side skirts, front and rear fascias, and a dual exhaust system.
The interior of the Fiesta St creates a racing experience as the vehicle comes with custom made Recaro seats that are designed to offer maximum comfort for the driver or passenger. The color of the seats comes in carefully selected colors that complement the interior of the vehicle. The interior of the vehicle also comes with voice recognition, and this resembles the Focus Interior.
According to the manufacturer, Ford, the vehicle’s performance is expected to be far superior to other vehicles in the same class, such as the Ford Focus. As Ford Global Performance Director Jost Capito said at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, “Drivers will be impressed with the new Fiesta ST.” According to an engineer involved in building this vehicle, the main goal of building a vehicle was to reward drivers who are excellent and more flattering to newbies. Construction of the vehicle, including all preliminary tests, were carried out in Germany.
Therefore, it is unclear whether the new Ford Fiesta ST will be retailed in the US, as production is expected to occur in Europe. If the vehicle is retailed in the US, a four-door version of the vehicle will be sold over a two-door version, although the response from the two-door version is said to be high and Ford could decide to offer the two-door version. So it comes down to waiting down the road for Ford to opt for the project, as the vehicle isn’t expected until late 2013.
