When you are writing articles for internet marketing purposes, there are some guidelines to follow that will ensure that your articles get read. This is a quick list of hot topics that will keep readers interested in your topics because, after all, the purpose is to keep the reader interested and redirect them to your other topics and eventually buy from you!

Here are my top 7 tips to get your articles read:

  1. Use numbers and/or bullets. Like the method you see here, bullet and number lists are quick, easy to prepare, and designed to keep up with people’s short attention spans. Most text editing programs have a feature that automatically indents paragraph points from the main text.
  2. Short paragraphs will generally attract more readers.
  3. Be original and shine! Show your true self and personality in your articles. You’ll notice that my articles often mention skiing and snowboarding because that’s what I like and it helps me draw analogies with the topics. If you want readers to come back to your content, be original and your articles will be read.
  4. Use an interesting headline that grabs attention. Instead of the title being “Learn to Ski,” you could title the article “Top Learn-to-Ski Tips From an Expert for Beginners.” It all comes down to a simple marketing strategy and techniques. Think about the topics you like to read and pay attention to what makes you stop and read the topics; Usually, there is some sort of headline or headline that grabs attention and gets the articles read. Store front magazines are a great place to look for examples of this in action.
  5. Use any method other than the written word: images, figures, graphs, statistics. When I first land on a website, I immediately scan the entire page to organize it and look for the images and factual figures (if they apply to the content). If I can get the message of the article from the images, quick facts and figures, I’ll most likely stop and gather the rest of the details of the written article. This is a great tip to get your articles read.
  6. Along with an attention-grabbing title or headline, if you want your articles to get read, you need to KEEP the reader’s attention. Don’t be exciting in your title and then have a boring article!
  7. Use subtitles. Long paragraphs and topics can be broken up by using subheadings, which will make your articles easier to read. I will generally use underlined, bold, and italic fonts to emphasize main points. For example, if I write about learning to ski, I might have 3-4 subheadings:
  • Form and Posture
  • laps
  • unemployment
  • riding the elevators

By sticking to these tips, you should be off to a great start in writing some great articles that will help you with your internet marketing business.
