With the rise and continual improvement of style, it is essential that you take care of your Gucci watch. If you are going to spend close to a thousand dollars on a watch, and possibly more, you need to make sure that it is treated regularly and taken care of. Here are 6 tips to help you take proper care of your Gucci watch.

.) Bedtime. Many of the Gucci watches come with some sort of scratch resistance, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. When you take your watch off, try to always put it back in its case. This will prevent any accident of tipping over or spilling when placing it on the counter.

.) Regular service trips. Although it’s nowhere near the same price, you’ll want to look at your Gucci watch like it’s your car. Regular service trips will help your watch maintain its high quality and prevent future failures. If you can, try to take it to a real Gucci store to maintain its authenticity. At a minimum, be sure to take your watch to a qualified repair shop that handles Gucci watches on a regular basis.

.) Belt cleaning. If your Gucci watch has a stainless steel or metal strap, you can wipe it down with soap and water to keep it clean. When drying, gently wipe the strap with a soft cloth. If you have a leather strap, it’s fine to gently clean the strap with water, but you want to dry it as quickly as possible by gently rubbing it with a soft cloth. Any type of perspiration or water over an extended period of time can break down the leather.

.) Scratch removal. If you are confident enough to remove any scratches from your Gucci watch, you can use a mild cleaner and a soft cloth to do so. Many people use Brasso or toothpaste to remove scratches. However, if you are unsure about removing the scratches, it is better to be safe than sorry and take it to a watch or repair shop.

.) Humidity and high temperatures. High temperatures and humidity are the worst for watches in general. Perspiration and high temperatures can ruin the battery and mark, not to mention the strap. If you have a leather strap, it is essential that you wear it loose in summer to prevent sweat from accumulating and damaging the leather.

.) Wind up the watch. If you have a mechanical watch, it is important that you take great care when winding it. As long as you turn it slowly and not too many times, you shouldn’t have any problems. If you have an automatic watch, it’s okay to turn the hands to get the watch going. Regardless, it has been shown that winding the watch at the same time of day can help extend the life of the watch.
