There are BIG kids and there are LITTLE kids. But kids never stop being kids, right? Even when children become dads, something temporarily inactive is released and dad is once again free to be a child himself. Here are 5 irrefutable comparisons between dad and his kids that leave no doubt that dad is the biggest kid of them all:

o Big boys and little boys spend most of their daily energy on two main goals: 1. getting along with girls and 2. spending as much time as possible on sports.

o During the day, Dad may work as an engineer, doctor, or rocket scientist, but he’ll still reflect the same horrified “What am I supposed to do with that?” watch as his 4-year-old son confronts a load of laundry that he needs to wash.

o Dads’ toys are bigger and more expensive… but they’re still toys. When presented with a shiny new ‘toy’, the faces of dads and kids will light up with wide eyes of anticipation and delight. Whether it’s a new toy car for your 3-year-old or a shiny new car for dad, you can look forward to a test drive, tinkering, and whoops of joy.

o Big kids and little kids play rough: wrestling, roughhousing, punching, teasing, rolling and rampaging and general mayhem. When someone inevitably gets hurt, they both come running to report the seriousness of their injury and receive love.

o The fascination with remote control starts very early and never goes away. Attempting to take the remote from your 5-year-old or dad will lead to pouting, tantrums, and the withholding of a goodnight kiss.

Dad may just be a big boy, but we love him for that and everything else that makes him a dad. Happy father’s day!
