The good ones:

1. Creole cabin. (La Preneuse) Although it doesn’t look like much from the outside, this is the best restaurant we visited during our two week vacation. They only have about four dishes that vary from day to day depending on what the fisherman brought. So expect perfectly prepared very fresh fish! The excellent service and the beautiful garden make this a restaurant not to be missed. Moderate price too.

2. Finca Ana. (Flic en Flac) This surprisingly large place is located on the road that leads to Flic-en-flac after passing through the sugar fields. Great seafood at reasonable prices in a beautiful setting. We were not very happy with the service, but we were a bit late. Live music is performed after dinner (at least the night we went).

3. Le Sirocain (La Gaulette) Situated just off the main road near La Gaulette, this restaurant is a gem. Seafood and excellent Creole food at reasonable prices.

4. The Italian restaurant in Rousseau Creole. I don’t remember the name, but I do remember the tomato sauce. Surprisingly good Italian food in a place you can’t otherwise go to: Rousseau Creole Mall. Like all the shops we visited in Mauritius, they sell bad copies at ridiculous prices. However, the Italian restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Medium:

The sirandaises. Menu too expensive and too ambitious that does not meet. We visited it twice and the Tournedos with Roquefort sauce is very good. It gets an extra point for its beautiful location on the beach. Go there for a pint of Phoenix or a cocktail and enjoy the sunset then eat elsewhere.

The ones we didn’t try:

gio Might be worth a visit…
