People began criticizing her for looking so bored and miserable in these photos. However, the origin of the “gloom and doom” motif was unclear; it can be seen on several other posters she has released. Oddly enough, she did not take any photos while boarding a plane. It is possible that this could be another example of a ploy to get people to buy her music.
Many people who have seen the “Sour Poster” and criticized it have failed to see the humor in it. They point out that her eyes are constantly shown in these posters, as well as her hair. These critics do not realize that someone who looks depressed and miserable in a photograph does not automatically become sad and depressed. Her eyes may be sad and her mouth may be puffy, but it is more likely that she is merely exhausted and needs some time off.
