In researching his background, I found out that he was previously a national marketing director for a company called GMT (Get Moving Today). When I tried to access the company’s website, it was gone. There is a lot of not so nice information on the internet regarding GMT.
Now, just because GMT has had its issues doesn’t mean My Shopping Genie is a scam or involved with anything other than legal. Don’t forget what I have said in many previous reviews though. That’s when to find facts on an MLM company, look at the age of it and the newer it is, the harder it is to look at the leadership. Bruce Bise, who was listed as President and CEO of GMT, is now listed as Co-Founder and Principal Distributor of My Shopping Genie.
My Shopping Genie – The Products
The My Shopping Genie product is an application (genie) that you can download for free and install on your computer, then you will have access to almost any other product with an affiliate program. The idea or goal is that when you buy something online, the genius will search the internet for the best deal. Now it’s free as long as you’re just a user. If you want to benefit monetarily well, that’s another story.
My Shopping Genie – Getting started and compensation plan
Assuming you decide you want to get involved with My Shopping Genie as a distributor, it will cost you $199. By becoming an IGD (Independent Genius Distributor), you will receive a distribution license with which you can give away free genies that will have your brand identification encoded on them. When a buyer buys something, you get a piece of the action. That is as long as you are a participating affiliate merchant and registered with them.
With My Shopping Genie you also receive a tutorial program to help you get started. You get a customizable branding tool, advertising system, coupon builder, business profiler, communication tool, and communication system. There is a maintenance fee of $29 per month for your website etc.

My Shopping Genius – The Bottom Line
At first, I think this is really a cool idea. I mean it’s an affiliate program for many (hopefully) different merchants and products. I don’t have time here to dig in and see who they have on board and what exactly the commissions are. People have been making money from affiliate programs for a long time, so that part is very appropriate.
For me, you’re either going to be an affiliate or you’re going to get involved with network marketing. Don’t get involved in network marketing to become an affiliate. It doesn’t seem right to me for other reasons as well, but I’m running out of space here.
If you decide to dive into My Shopping Genie, you have to come up with a way to find people to join you after you run out of family and friends. You will need a mentor and a system
The bottom line is that your success will depend on whether or not you can sponsor new people. The main thing you have to do is learn from someone how to market your business and generate leads.
