After a hard day at work, most of us can’t wait to get home and jump into the bathtub to relax. To enhance your bathroom experience, here are some fancy tips on how to make your master bathroom practically available.

Feel like you’re in a spa by choosing the extra large fluffy towels. Don’t be afraid to splurge, it will be worth it. For added effect, make sure they are scented with your favorite aromatherapy oil, be it vanilla or jasmine. A heated towel rail would be awesome for those cold winter nights. You almost feel like a loved baby wrapped in protective swaddling. Keep a fluffy spa robe on hand to wear after you’ve toweled off. If you get one made of extra soft and fluffy Egyptian cotton, you will never want to take it off. Color coordinate all your towels, hand towels, robes, wash cloths and all other linens

Marble floors are great for your bathroom flooring. Lay out a soft rug to walk on while you’re out of the bathroom. Area rugs add color and texture to your bathroom. These change the focus in a room so you don’t have to repaint or refinish the walls. You also won’t have to completely remodel, but you’ll still have that personal touch and style featured in your master bathroom. The rugs can be of fashionable wool or traditional oriental design. Turn your master bath into a spa or oasis with luxurious, thick, hand-tufted or hand-punched, high-pile wool rugs. A large 5×8 rug would be best for your spacious open master bathroom. Get an area rug that will complement your personality as well as the style of your entire bathroom. You can opt for floral or garden motifs.

Install a built-in TV on the wall in front of the bathtub and watch your favorite classic movies in your bathroom. A phone next to your bathtub means you don’t have to get up, interrupt your bath, and be cold again just to go get the phone. Have a CD player that plays soft tunes. This would be perfect if you were drinking wine in your bubble bath…a scene straight out of a movie. But remember not to place any electronic devices too close to your bathroom for your safety.

Adding plants to any room instantly creates a serene atmosphere that calms the nerves. Get some freshly cut white roses and place them in a vase next to the tub where you can look at them while you soak. Use scented candles, bath oils, and salts to round out your aromatherapy regimen. Once you finish your bath you will feel fully energized. Or paint the walls or use tiles in soothing colors and tones. Splurge on detailed vanity mirrors, towel bars and tissue holders in brass or chrome to complete the luxurious effect.

It is advisable to decorate the main bathroom in a similar style to the main bedroom to create cohesion when moving from one room to another.
