A druid is a very difficult class to play, and with all the different roles, the sheer number of abilities at your disposal can become overwhelming. Using one WoW druid macro, or several, can help simplify your action bars and save you precious time that can prevent a complete raid cleanup.

As a rest druid, every second counts when you try to keep your raid alive. Using macros can literally cut your focus and launch time in half, simply because you’re eliminating unnecessary steps. Here are two examples of simple WoW Druid macros for a Raiding Rest Druid.

Focus macros – This is usually your tank. You can take this and apply it to any spell in your book and really for any spec, but it works best for tank healing. The reason is that you need to constantly keep an eye on the tank and make sure the prime of life is running on three stacks, every time. I put this macro on my number 1 key and make sure it runs consistently on my focus target at all times.

Using this WoW druid macro can prevent you from accidentally casting Flower of Life at one of the other members of your raid. Since you can only have Lifebloom on one target at a time, you need to make sure it stays in the tank. The exception is when you use Tree of Life Form and Flower of Life is enhanced to launch on an unlimited number of targets. In that case, you may want a second type of macro.

Mouseover macros – This can save you a lot more time than you think. Without having to select a target, you simply need to hover over your target character or their frame on the party screen. In a big pull or a long fight, this can save you a few dozen or even a hundred clicks of your mouse, which can actually save you vital launch time. Basically this can be adapted to any spell in your book, and it should be. In fact, I’ve repeated this spell macro for Flower of Life, Rejuvenation, Regrowth, Nourish, Healing Touch, Swift Relief, and even some offensive and CC spells like Cyclone and Roots.

These are just a few examples of what you can do with Resto Druid Macros. In fact, the possibilities are limitless. These two macros can even be applied to wild DPS, Tank, or Balance. You will have to adapt some of them, but you can imagine how they would be incredibly useful in all the different Druid forms.

Top World of Warcraft players use macros and keyboard shortcuts to optimize their performance in raids, PvP, and even solo. However, macros can be confusing, and if you have the wrong letter in place, the whole macro is broken. I use a macro and keybinding tool that has the best macros in place so I don’t have to spend hours studying these confusing snippets of code.
