Kareena Kapoor, the daughter of estranged couple Randhir Kapoor and Babita, was born on September 21, 1980 in Mumbai. She is the sister of former actress Karishma Kapoor. Family members of her, fans of her, and some people close to her industry call her “Bebo”. She is currently one of the most beautiful, successful and sought-after actresses in the Bollywood film industry.

Kareena was born into an influential movie family, where you can watch various movie actors. Her grandfather was Raj Kapoor and her great grandfather was Pridviraj Kapoor, both of whom were legendary actors in the Bollywood film industry. Her father, Randhir Kapoor, and her mother, Babitha, also played important roles in the Indian Hindi film industry.

Kareena was educated at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later studied at Welham Girls’ Boarding School in Dehradun. She later took a microcomputer and information technology course at Harvard for summer school for three years. She then joined Government Law College at Churchgate. But she did not complete the course. After a year of studying there, she returned home to pursue acting as her career and joined the Kishore Namit Kapoor acting school.

Kareena was given a chance to debut with the movie “Kaho Na Pyaar Hai”, but after a few days of shooting, she dropped out. She debuted with the film “Refugee” opposite Abhishek Bachchan in the role of a Pakistani girl. The film was a box office flop, but she managed to grab the attention and praise from critics when she managed to justify the role of herself. Her role earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Debut in the Female category. Kareena’s next films were “Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai” and Asoka. But they failed at the box office. However, she earned critical acclaim for her performance in Asoka. After the success of the movie “Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham” where she played a good role, she became one of the best actresses. After this movie, she acted in a few more movies, but none of them did her any good. In 2004, she came up with a different character in the movie “Chameli” where she played the role of a prostitute. With the success of that movie and her cute acting again, she caught everyone’s attention and won the Filmfare Award for Best Performance. For her film “Dev,” she won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance that same year. In 2004 she also acted in the movies “Aitraaz” and “Hulchul” which were above average. In 2006, she acted in “Chup Chup ke”, “36 china town”, “othello” and “omkara”, of which she got good response for “Othello” and “Omkara”. Kareena’s latest release is “Don”, which did a good business at the box office.

Kareena has done many stage shows throughout her career so far. The last tour of hers was the Rockstar concert in May 2006 it was a great success. In this concert she performed alongside Salman Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Jayed Khan, John Abraham, Esha Deol and Mallika Sherawat.
