Do you have the same problem as me? I always miss calls from an unrecognizable number, but I still want to know who it is. You have a phone number, although you need a name! There are a few different things that I try sometimes and they can help you.
1. Try to call back the phone number. It takes a certain degree of bravery, but it’s the quickest way to find out! If they don’t respond, please leave a voice message.
2. Send a text message to the number. You can say something really simple like “Sorry, I missed your call, but I’m not sure who this number belongs to.” If they receive the text message, they will usually reply with your name or admit that they dialed the wrong number. However, if you or the caller does not have text messages, this may not work. It also won’t work if they dialed from a home phone. You may still have a phone number, need a name, and are anxious, but don’t worry! There are other solutions.
3. Google the number and see if something comes up. The number can be written on the owner’s myspace page or on a company website. Look for the number with quotes around it. If there are no results, replace the dashes with periods or just delete the dashes all together.
4. Ask a friend or family member. Go to Facebook and ask if anyone tried to reach you. Post a message on Twitter asking if anyone tried to reach you recently. Now, don’t just go out on the internet and post someone’s phone number and ask who they are. That person could get tons of unwanted phone calls. Protect other people’s privacy.
5. Use a reverse mobile phone search on the Internet. It’s easy, efficient, and only takes about 30 seconds! It only costs a couple of dollars and you can get the information you need on who may be calling you. So do you still have a phone number, do you need a name? It won’t if you use a reverse phone book or those other suggested solutions. Read more below …
